With a career in the fitness and yoga world since 1996, Rhona is an accomplished Fitness and Pilates Professional, Personal Trainer, and internationally recognized Yoga Instructor. As a former Pilates/Yoga studio owner and Fitness Director for a national fitness company, she has developed and taught a variety of fitness, health, and wellness programs since for the past 20+ years.

In addition to her roles as a fitness professional and prior to the pandemic, Rhona was a Canadian National Master Trainer, specializing in the Bender Ball Method, Tabata GX, and Barre Above. She has had the privilege of mentoring thousands of instructors globally, guiding them through CEC-approved workshops and certification programs.

Who's it for: This workshop is for instructors and personal trainers who are looking to incorporate core training into their classes and programs. No prior Pilates experience is required. 

 

What it is: A beginner-friendly Pilates class focused on building core strength while developing a deeper understanding of your body and its movements. This non-impact, balanced class promotes overall wellness through a combination of strength, flexibility, and posture exercises.

 

What you'll learn: 

  • How to be a skillful thinking instructor

  • Techniques to build core strength

  • Exercises to enhance flexibility

  • An understanding of how the body moves and how to align it for optimal results

IRON YOGA – Strengthening Your Practice With Weights  

Recognized for 1.5 CECs: Yoga Alliance, BCRPA, CFES   

     

Who's it for: This workshop is ideal for yoga practitioners, fitness instructors, and personal trainers looking to learn new movement patterns to enhance their clients sessions by integrating weight training and yoga. 

 

What it is: Iron Yoga is a dynamic fusion of weight training and power yoga, created by Anthony Carillo. This workshop teaches you how to combine yoga poses with resistance exercises to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and mental focus, creating a balanced, comprehensive workout.

 

What you'll learn: 

  • How to incorporate both isolation and compound movements into a yoga practice

  • Techniques for improving lean muscle mass and flexibility

  • How to build strength and endurance through a combination of yoga postures and weight-training exercises

  • Methods for enhancing mental focus and reducing stress

How you will improve: After completing the workshop, you'll gain tools to boost your own practice or bring new techniques to your clients, leading to better functional strength and injury prevention.

Who's it for: This workshop is for fitness instructors and personal trainers looking for ways to include the stability ball into their training programs and classes. 

 

What it is: Corefit on the Ball is a dynamic workout that combines core-strengthening exercises with movement on the Stability ball. The program focuses on improving precision, control, strength, power, and endurance while toning multiple muscle groups.

 

What you'll learn: 

  • Core training techniques to enhance strength, balance, and flexibility

  • How to use the Stability ball to engage various muscle groups

  • Effective strength training exercises to tone the abs, legs, butt, chest, back, and shoulders

  • Methods to improve posture and overall body control

How you will improve: By the end of this workshop, you'll have the tools to teach a full-body workout that boosts endurance and power, helping your clients feel stronger and more confident in their physical practice.

Pelvic Floor Workout

SATURDAY, May 24th 12:30 - 2:15 pm

Who's it for: This workshop is for Fitness and Yoga instructors, and personal trainers who work with women who experience urinary incontinence, particularly those dealing with pregnancy, menopause, or aging. It's also ideal for those recovering from childbirth or surgery, as well as anyone looking to strengthen their pelvic floor for improved bladder control and overall pelvic health.

 

What it is: pFILATES is a pelvic floor rehabilitation method that combines effective Pilates, Yoga, and Personal Training movements to condition and strengthen the pelvic floor. This class focuses on improving bladder and bowel control, enhancing sexual function, and toning the thighs and butt in a supportive and accessible way.

 

What you'll learn: 

  • 10 powerful exercises that target pelvic floor strength and bladder control, and that can be incorporated into any class setting

  • How to improve bladder and bowel control, allowing your clients to jump, run, or sneeze without accidents

  • Techniques to enhance sexual function and recover pelvic floor strength after childbirth or surgery

  • Functional movements designed to tone the pelvic floor, thighs, and buttocks

How you will improve: By the end of this workshop, you'll have the knowledge and tools to teach specific pelvic floor exercises to your clients to help them improve any pelvic floor issues.

Who's it for: This workshop is for instructors and personal trainers who are looking for ways to challenge their clients using the bender ball and gliders, or other props that can slide easily on carpet or hardwood.

 

What it is: Corefit is a fun and dynamic Pilates workout that stimulates and strengthen the core, including the back, pelvic, and shoulder girdles. This class focuses on improving posture and creating a balanced body through targeted Pilates exercises.

 

What you'll learn:

  • How to strengthen the core, back, pelvic, and shoulder girdles 

  • Techniques to improve posture and overall body alignment

  • How to use the Bender Ball and gliders to enhance core engagement and balance

  • Exercises that promote functional strength and stability

How you will improve: By the end of this workshop, you'll know how to use the equipment in a class setting or 1:1 to target and strengthen key muscle groups, helping your clients build more stable and aligned bodies.

What it is: In this workshop, we'll explore specific yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques designed to alleviate common menopause symptoms. This practice helps improve sleep quality, balance mood, reduce hot flashes, and boost energy levels, fostering a greater sense of calm, vitality, and strength during this natural transition.

 

What you'll learn:

Who's it for: This workshop is designed for fitness instructors and personal trainers who teach Seniors and individuals with movement disabilities, or those clients looking for a low-impact exercise program. It’s perfect for anyone seeking a fun, accessible way to stay active, improve balance, and tone muscles.

 

What it is: SitFit is a fun, low-impact exercise class that uses a chair as a prop to assist with balance exercises and stretching. This class is designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, and stamina, while keeping the heart strong and burning calories. 

 

What you'll learn:

  • How to use props like the Bender Ball, Gliding Disks, Resistance Tubing, and weights for effective seated exercises

  • Techniques to help your clients improve strength, balance, mobility, and stamina

  • Specific exercises that can be easily incorporated into any fitness program for clients with movement limitations

  • How to create a no-impact, inclusive workout for clients of all abilities

How you will improve: By the end of this workshop, you’ll walk away with a complete, low-impact exercise program that you can immediately teach to your clients. Who it's for: Yoga and Pilates instructors as well as Group exercise instructors and personal trainers that use Yoga and Pilates for functional movement. Fitness consumers will enjoy new ways to leverage functional movement.

What it is: This is where Pilates meets Yoga. This awesome Pilates-infused Yoga workshop will help your clients re-connect to their core and become more in-tuned with their bodies.

  • Your registration must be paid in full by May 18th, 2025. If you cancel after that date, you will not receive a refund, but you can keep the handouts.
